Following a number of exciting new business wins, SEC Newgate UK is looking for a motivated Executive to join our team in the North of England, working across communications and advocacy accounts.

SEC Newgate Manchester office — Start date May 2022

Executive - Communications and Advocacy

About the role

Working for high-profile clients in sectors such as property, energy and infrastructure, you will support our stakeholder engagement work on major regeneration and infrastructure schemes, as well as assisting with communications for developments being built or that have become operational.

As an Executive, you will be responsible for producing research and analysis to help provide our clients with the context they need to build effective strategies, and you will create communications collateral to support the delivery of impactful campaigns.

Working for a top 30 global communications group and having close interaction with the wider team in the UK and beyond, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skillset and to become involved in providing advice to clients across our various specialisms - from public affairs and stakeholder engagement, to corporate, financial and consumer communications.

The candidate

We are looking for a candidate with strong writing and analytical skills, with a good understanding and enthusiasm for local and national politics. Some experience of working with media outlets and on social media would also be desirable.  With a primary focus on housing, development and infrastructure, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the local and national media landscape, as well as issues of political importance.

You will have strong research skills and the ability to write in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. As this is an agency setting, you should also be able to work well as part of a team and to prioritise competing deadlines effectively.

Experience working in either politics, the media, or the property, energy and infrastructure sectors is preferred but not essential.

The agency

SEC Newgate is a global strategic communications and advocacy group with 43 offices across five continents. With over 850 professionals across the globe, we advise some of the world’s leading organisations as well as growing businesses, industry bodies and individuals.

Benefits

As well as an exceptional salary and benefits package, we offer 30 days’ holiday each year (plus a day off for your birthday and a day off for charitable activity), as well as opportunities to work flexibly and be part of a fun, friendly and high-calibre team.

Aligned to our Manchester team but working closely with colleagues in London and other UK teams, the role will involve a flexible blend of remote and office-based working, and travel to London and elsewhere from time to time.
