Senior Account Executive/Account Manager (Manchester)

Previous consultation and engagement agency experience is essential and ideally you will have had experience of infrastructure or energy from waste projects. You should be organised, have great attention to detail and you have to be able to drive .

The role will be to provide day-to-day support for the account team and assist with the co-ordination and running of communications programmes for clients.

1.     Client and task management

  • Develop skills required to research, write and distribute collateral relevant to client and discipline
  • Take responsibility for understanding the briefs / tasks that you are set and for the delivery of well-written responses that are client-ready
  • Consistently deliver accurate and comprehensive research support to the team as required
  • Develop good time management, showing the ability to deliver to deadlines and demonstrate good attention to detail
  • Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcast media, newswires and social media, for opportunities for client positioning
  • Be responsible for updating all client databases
  • Monitor for and circulate research relevant to client sector, and learn to identify and highlight which points are pertinent to the client
  • Work with the account teams to develop communications campaigns and/or to pitch stories to media. Ask questions to the team and show a proactive approach and desire to secure results that will please the client
  • Research and develop feedback reports tracking achievements and deliverables for client programmes. Undertake research to provide background and intelligence for client programmes and new business pitches.
  • Assist with event management, including press conferences and promotional events and all admin related to a client’s regulatory calendar
  • Assist in the client reporting and coverage monitoring process
  • Attend and promote client events to the media
  • Proactively generate story ideas for sharing with clients and share them with the relevant client account team for consideration

 2.       Teamwork & development

  • Learn to develop and maintain excellent media and stakeholder contacts within areas relevant to clients and your specialist area of knowledge, and demonstrate knowledge of editorial stance, style and opportunities for placement
  • Read the papers, track news through online and broadcast news sources that are relevant to clients, demonstrating an awareness of the news and political agenda
  • Demonstrate excellent team working skills
  • Develop a working understanding of the sectors/markets which clients operate in
  • Develop an understanding of the stakeholder landscapes relevant to your discipline
  • Demonstrate knowledge and relevance of different types of social media
  • Utilise opportunities for personal training and development, flag where you think more is needed.  Commit to attending training events and share learning
  • Attend external events relevant to your team and discipline
