NSIPS

If you’re working on a major infrastructure project in the UK – whether it’s energy, aviation or highways focused – chances are it’s a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and will require a Development Consent Order (DCO).

NSIPS

We’ll be at the NSIP Forum
1 -2 March

Our specialist DCO team has advised on more than 20 NSIPs to date, including:

  • Gatwick Northern Runway
  • Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station
  • Longfield Solar Farm
  • Sunnica Energy Farm
  • Brigg Biomass Plant
  • Keuper Gas Storage Project
  • Port Talbot Steel Works
  • International Advanced Manufacturing Park

Consultation

Being able to demonstrate adequate consultation – sufficient to satisfy the Planning Inspectorate (PINs) – is becoming ever more critical, as is the need to show regard to feedback from consultees.

We adopt an insights-led approach to understanding the audiences for engagement: using community and digital mapping, we develop detailed evidence on target audiences as part of the consultation process.

Innovation

In an effort to drive engagement, we combine remote (but accessible) channels – virtual consultation rooms, webinars and social media – with more traditional techniques such as public exhibitions and telephone surgeries.

Using targeted digital engagement and social analytics we can help you identify what matters to residents, landowners and businesses, while allowing you to keep an eye on the online ground.

Our creativity enabled our clients’ consultation – and hence their broader NSIP programmes – to stay on track during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Recognition

We are delighted to have been recognised by our peers: in 2020, we won the Planning Campaign of the Year PRCA Public Affairs Award for our work in support of new hydrogen generation in Kent.

Compliance

All our work takes place with an eye on delivering robust and compliant deliverables for DCO applications, including the Consultation Report.

We’ll be showcasing some of our virtual and digital mapping and engagement techniques at the NSIP Forum, on 1st-2nd March. To arrange a meeting on the day with one of our event team, please get in touch on douglas.johnson@secnewgate.co.uk
