Wind farms in Dumfries and Galloway

As part of our work across Scotland, we provided support for RES on five wind farm sites in Dumfries and Galloway. Our work included extensive political engagement with Dumfries and Galloway Council, Holyrood and the local network of community councils. Consultation on these sites was targeted at a personal level while delivering against the expectations of elected politicians and meeting documenting requirements such as the production of PAC reports.

We additionally managed a number of community liaison groups around the sites to bring together key local stakeholders, fostering focused discussion and minimising the level of suspicion that can often arise with large projects in rural communities.

The projects we worked on included Solwaybank, located a short distance away in the Annandale East and Eskdale ward, as well as Minnygap in Annandale North and Glenchamber in Wigtownshire. All three sites are now constructed and fully operational, and our post-submission work moved into communications around construction and facilitating community benefit discussions.
