SEC Newgate UK is today launching its device donation scheme, set up as part of their involvement with the UK Government’s IT Reuse for Good Charter.

SEC Newgate has set up a device donation scheme in partnership with Zero Tech Waste . As our chosen IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) they will be supporting SEC Newgate, alongside other partners, including the Digital Poverty Alliance, to extend the lifespan of our tech and tackle digital exclusion.

This scheme is being set up as part of SEC Newgate UK’s commitment and longstanding focus on purpose, sustainability and circularity. This not only means that our devices will remain in use for longer, preventing premature obsolescence, as well as unnecessary e-waste, but also will help those who face digital exclusion.

All of this forms part of SEC Newgate’s Ambition 28 programme, our high-ambition impact programme that drives positive social and environmental impact through our operations.

As a signatory of the Charter SEC Newgate will give quality second-life devices to people who urgently need them, innovating to drive up inclusion and sustainability in tandem.

The requirements of the Charter mean we take a reuse first approach to IT asset management, to support people and families in the UK who are digitally excluded. We will also measure and report back to Government bi-annually on the environmental benefits and social impacts.

We are the first public relations/public affairs consultancy to sign up but strongly encourage other agencies as well as our clients and suppliers to join the movement. To find out more and sign up click here

Oliver Taylor Director – Zero Tech Waste (pictured with Emma Kane and Nina Dowell,) said:
“We’re so pleased to be SEC Newgate’s chosen partner for their device donation scheme. Most businesses regularly refresh IT equipment, unsure of what to do with devices that still have usable life. We will help give their devices a refresh and get them into the hands of those who need them most.”
