A look ahead to London Climate Action Week

Next week, more than 45,000 delegates will attend over 400 events as the UK capital kicks off the seventh London Climate Action Week.

For those looking to avoid the jet-lagged chaos of COP 30 or the bustle and political tension of Climate Week New York City (CW-NYC), London Climate Action Week will offer a bigger platform than in previous years but one that is also more reflective of the climate science and need to maintain progress on building a sustainable economy.

Taking place between 21-29 June, London will open its many city gates to financiers, corporates, scientists, artists, activists and policymakers, who will converge to discuss maintaining progress to halt and mitigate the climate crisis.

Although there are significant global headwinds and political scrutiny of environmentalism and corporate sustainability, and well documented policy realignment in some countries, London remains the world’s leading centre for green finance and the first G7 country to commit to a statutory requirement to deliver net zero by 2050.

This year’s LCAW theme, ‘Global London’, reflects a desire for London to cement its role as a centre for international climate action, and the commercial opportunities that brings, in the face of the US and other countries stepping back from their previous leadership roles. The week is set to attract a wide range of people, so whether you’re a startup founder in Shoreditch, a diplomat on Whitehall, or a youth activist from the Global South, there will be a platform and conversation for you.

SEC Newgate UK and its Purpose and Sustainability team, based in its London HQ, will be playing a key part in LCAW. We are working with clients and partners across 17 different events (with more to be announced). A list of public events that we are supporting can be found below, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at purposeandsustainability@secnewgate.co.uk

Most of the events are free or low cost, so sign-up and join the debate, network and share best practice and ideas.
