Richard Griffiths is a strategic communications specialist who brings more than twenty-five years of experience advising organisations on building and protecting their corporate reputation. He began his career in television and radio reporting on some of the world’s largest companies as a business reporter with BBC News.
Richard is an expert in corporate affairs focused on helping clients communicate to their most important stakeholders, from investors to broader society. He has advised listed and non-listed businesses on defining their corporate positions and narratives and amplifying these across key audiences. His skills have regularly been deployed internationally, and he has advised multiple clients across EMEA and other jurisdictions. Clients have included a global TMT group, a well-known international hospitality leader, household names in retail and a not-for-profit sustainability benchmarking organisation.
He has worked alongside experts in public policy, M&A and purpose and sustainability. He has helped several organisations navigate their participation and attendance at the World Economic Forum in Davos where he has regularly supported clients on-the-ground. Prior to SEC Newgate, he held senior roles at the strategic communications consultancies, Citigate Dewe Rogerson and Ketchum. He has also worked as a senior communicator ‘in house’ at KPMG and for an eBay-owned tech firm where he oversaw European Communications.
He holds a part-masters in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge. He is currently learning to speak Portuguese.
